Our client is a successful and growing business with offices in Huntingdon, one of the local success stories of the past few years.
Due to this growth they are recruiting for an experienced Payroller to join their friendly team.
In essence the person who takes on this position will assume a role akin to a Team Leader as time progresses and duties will include;
Looking after a small portfolio of customers and processing their payrolls from start to finish
Overseeing a small team and providing guidance and advice where required
Inputting payroll data, balancing figures and ensuring that the client receives a consistently high level of service in keeping with KPIs
Taking responsibility for month end payroll including all statutory returns
Working closely with clients and internal colleagues to ensure service levels are maintained
Liaising directly with HMRC and other government agencies as necessary and answering any queries as appropriate
Manual calculations where necessary
Processing starters and leavers, overpayments, back pay etc. as required
Producing monthly reports
Ad hoc duties
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of all aspects of payroll and will not only be able to process it electronically but also be able to understand the nuts and bolts of what makes payroll work.
Experience of team management would be ideal, but strong candidates with a desire to grow and develop within people management will also be considered and coaching will be on offer in this role.
The ability to lead by example is very important in this position as there will be challenging targets to work to and achieve, but in reward the successful candidate will have access to a generous benefits scheme as well as study support towards the CIPP qualification.
