Job Description

Our client is a fast-paced, professional company with modern, well-appointed offices in Huntingdon.

Following a restructure within their finance team, they now have a vacancy for an Accounts Assistant to work closely with the Accountant in a varied role.

The position will be varied and duties will initially include;

Matching invoices to POs and delivery notes

Liaising with shared service centre for queries

Assisting with preparation of weekly payment runs

Reconciling customer payments to outstanding invoices

As the role develops you will also get involved in;

Posting invoices, including intercompany

Posting payments and receipts

Bank posting and reconciliations

Credit control

Preparing VAT returns


Fixed assets

Liaison with auditors

The successful candidate will ideally be studying towards the AAT qualification, preferably Level 4, although other levels will also be considered.

Whilst initially focusing on purchase and sales ledger work, as is evident from the details, this role has excellent scope for growth and development.

The successful candidate will have some experience in accounts and will be looking for an opportunity to grow and develop.

A good understanding of Excel is very important and experience of working with an accountancy system, ideally SAP is also ideal.
