Job Description

Our client is a successful business based on the outskirts of Huntingdon with excellent links to the A1 and they are currently recruiting for someone to on a 6 month contract supporting the transition of the payroll to a new provider.

Duties will include;

Supporting the production of payroll for almost 2000 staff across multiple sites

Processing and review monthly payroll changes – starters, leavers, salary increases, changes in hours, overtime, pension payments etc.

Calculate SMP, SPP, SSP & SAP entitlements

Producing payslips and P45s

Support in processing statutory deductions being are reported by RTI and paid over to HMRC on a monthly basis before due dates

Preparing year-end returns to HMRC

Supporting the production of reports and information for budget holders

Resolve employee enquiries on all aspects of the payroll

Supporting the Payroll Manager with pension information and submission of statutory information within expected timeframes

Supporting the team with the change process of payroll providers

The successful candidate will have a proven background in payroll and will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. A payroll qualification would be an advantage although not essential.

Experience of payroll systems and a good working knowledge of Excel is also very important and the ability to communicate with people at all levels is key to the success of this position.

Attention to detail is critical as is being able to work to and with challenging deadlines.

This role will last for six months. but it could be extended depending on how the transition goes.
