If you are looking for an all-round Financial Controller position and you are happy to work on an interim basis initially, then this could be the role for you.

Our client, based on the outskirts of Northampton is currently recruiting for an exciting interim Financial Controller position.

Taking day-to-day responsibility for the finance team, your role will have extensive variety and duties will include;

Managing a small finance team

Taking responsibility for cashflow forecasting on an short-term and longer-term basis to include invoice financing and bank liaison

Preparation and submission of VAT returns

Production of monthly management accounts including KPIs, commentary and analysis

Developing and improving financial controls and processes including balance sheet reconciliations

Preparation of budgets and forecasts on a regular basis with a view to long-term business planning

Regular and accurate flash, profit and loss and cashflow reporting

Preparing draft financial accounts and maintaining strong communication channels with auditors

Ad hoc duties

This position will suit a qualified (or equivalent) accountant with excellent technical skills and a background working in an SME environment enabling the to look at the big picture whilst being able to notice the detail.

Experience of managing a team of transactional staff will be key to the success of this role as well as being able to manage and develop key stakeholder relationships over time.

As expected, advanced Excel skills are an essential attribute, and exposure to Sage 1000 or Navision would be extremely useful in the successful fulfilment of this role.
