Job Description

Our client is a leading regional firm who currently have an opportunity for someone to join their audit team in a Semi-Senior capacity

Your role will be primarily focused towards audit work where you will work both from the office and on client premises and duties will include;

Planning of audits for review by Manager

Preparation of compliance tests, required paperwork prior to assignment

Completing whole sections of the audit file in accordance with procedures

Complete all substantive testing with minimal supervision, delegate some elements of testing to more junior members of staff where appropriate and design specific tests if appropriate

Resolving simple queries and referring more complex issues to more senior members of staff

Working to ensure that jobs are completed within budgets

Completing stock takes

Drafting tax computations

Undertaking assigned tasks on client premises to agreed plan

Professional liaison with client and/or client's staff

Accounts finalisation, file completion and tax computations

Mentoring trainees and less experienced members in the team

The successful candidate will be an actively studying part-qualified ACCA or ACA accountant and will have proven experience working in practice.

Experience working in audit would be a distinct advantage, but candidates who have worked on smaller clients and are looking to develop skills within this area will be considered.

A professional demeanour, strong communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels is essential to the success of this role.
