Job Description

Our client is a fast-paced business based in between Huntingdon and Peterborough and they currently have an opportunity for a qualified or nearly-qualifed accountant to join their burgeoning finance team in what will be a very technical role.

The position will suit someone who has a highly analytical mindset and enjoys getting in to the detail and your duties will include;

Ensuring upper level management have quality financial information and analysis needed to make strategic, operational and tactical decisions

Tease out critical analysis on business performance – not just reporting / analysing but providing business insight to help formulate effective strategy (inc. variance analysis)

Taking ownership of the P&L and balance sheet account balances

Forward looking forecasting, financial modelling, planning and auditing

In-depth analysis inc viability / performance against targets / KPIs (current / past trends – monitor, highlight, analyse)

Managing and reviewing reporting provision

Compliance of governance risk and control

Ensuring master data accuracy

Supporting the wider FP&A and Finance team in delivering best practice across all business and ensuring that financial reporting is as effective as possible

The successful candidate will ideally be Big 4 trained but will definitely have worked for a national firm and will have an affinity with analysis as well as proven background working in audit for large entities. Exposure to FMCG or manufacturing during your training would be the icing on the cake.

Excel skills at Macro level are essential to the success of this role and exposure to Power BI would be a distinct advantage.

This is a dynamic and ever-evolving business and as a result it requires someone who has the ability to adapt and roll with the changes whilst overseeing the production of meaningful management information and aiding the business in its constant drive forwards.

Technical ability and advanced IT skills are pre-requisites and experience working with ERP systems would be a distinct advantage.
