Job Description

Our client is a friendly, fast-paced business and they have an urgent requirement for someone to join them working in their payroll team.

They are now looking for someone to join the team and take on responsibility for the weekly payroll processing for the business.

Starting immediately, the position will last for at least 3 months and can work remotely.

Duties will be varied and will include;

Preparation of weekly payroll using data from computerised Time and Attendance (T&A) system including resolving and queries

Maintenance of static data on both payroll and T&A systems in conjunction with HR

Maintenance of holiday records

Confirmation and classification of absence reasons

Manual statutory pay calculations

Processing of starters/leavers

Weekly and monthly reconciliation of payroll figures

Preparation of payment requests for deductions

Annual year end returns

Responding to queries from relevant authorities

Uplifting Pension contributions via the internet

Expenses processing

Petty cash management

Ad hoc duties as required

The successful candidate will have proven experience of payroll and will be a self-starter who enjoys being busy.

The ability to interact with personnel at all levels is essential as is a solid understanding of payroll principles.

Strong IT skills (Excel in particular) are very important and experience working with time and attendance systems would be a distinct advantage Training will be given on the finance system.
