A Year in Events and Personal Development
Tell us what kind of development topics and events you would like to see from The ONE Group next year.
The ONE Group has worked with a multitude of development partners, and key speakers to bring you events throughout 2018. Our goal was to provide both candidates and clients with some great insights, as well as opportunity to grow their personal and professional understanding of key issues in the workplace.
These have been driven by popular demand and the feedback we have been given.
Largely based around people, TOG events have been centred around well-being, mental health and personal development. This comes as businesses are now beginning to recognise the importance of people management, dealing with wellbeing concerns and that a one size fits all approach is no longer effective when it comes to personality and drive.
With countless schemes and initiatives out there, people learning, and development opportunities will become the new way for employers to understand their employees with more variety and in more dynamic ways:
- Mental Health in the Workplace – Taking Resilience Seriously
- Driving Emotional Intelligence and Reducing Stress in your Organisation
- Personality Profiling (Clarity4D)
- Thriving at Work Forums in Partnership with Your People Potential
"Extremely useful and something I will take away and put into practice"
Other key topics this year included, apprenticeships and apprenticeship levy, driven by a desire to get the most out of this government scheme. Organisations also recognised the need for skills development and a pipeline of knowledge within the workplace, and students are the ideal blank canvass for this, moving away from the academics of university to develop within their chosen career path.
Attending our business events is a fantastic means of developing the key skills required to reach the full potential within your role, and meet others within different companies, in the same or similar job role.
Motivation and Leadership is another topic The ONE Group have driven forward in 2018 – we were privileged in October, along with Vivacity Peterborough to host a Personal Power event led by inspirational speaker Marcus Child at The Key Theatre.
Focussing on what it takes to lead a high-performance culture, the event brought together employers and their business leaders to truly break down what breeds high performance and rockets motivation.
Overall, this year we have received a great response to our events and development opportunities, with close to 1000 registrants and an average rating of 9/10. Next year, however, we would like to go one better and build the programme around you, tailoring to your individual development needs. To help us on this journey, we have put together a survey designed to give us insight into what you are looking for in the upcoming year.
