Most job descriptions contain four or five things that matter and a fair amount of padding around them. Their recent news, their LinkedIn page and their competitors tell you what&#8217;s happening. An interviewer picks a line from three jobs ago and asks about it, and \u201cthat was a while back\u201d is a weak answer. That stopped being true some time ago. Do the trip once beforehand if you can.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c5a7c06 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c5a7c06\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>For one on Teams or Zoom, test the link the day before, check your camera and microphone, and find somewhere with a plain background and decent light. Arrive ten minutes before, not thirty. Be pleasant to whoever meets you at reception, because they&#8217;re often asked afterwards. A short account of a time your organisation rescued a project tells them plenty.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6d80a79 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6d80a79\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Keep answers to around two minutes. If you&#8217;ve finished and they&#8217;re still writing, stop talking. Silence usually means the interviewer is still thinking, and filling it is how good answers get buried.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f8b96cb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f8b96cb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Many employers use competency-based questions, which have a structure of their own.
