Facilities & Health & Safety Manager<\/span><\/p>\n

Role Overview<\/span><\/p>\n

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Facilities & Health & Safety Manager<\/strong> to take ownership of site management and ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

This part-time role will be responsible for overseeing facilities management across workshop and office areas, while developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health & safety systems, policies, and procedures<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a positive health and safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance, managing site-related activities, and driving continuous improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/p>\n

Health & Safety Management<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • \n

    Lead and manage all aspects of health & safety compliance<\/strong> across the organisation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Develop, implement, and maintain H&S policies and procedures in line with current UK legislation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including HSE guidance, COSHH, PUWER, manual handling<\/strong>, and other applicable legislation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Conduct and regularly review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate corrective actions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Maintain accurate health and safety records and ensure documentation is maintained to an audit-ready standard.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Monitor workplace practices and identify opportunities to improve health, safety, and environmental performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Facilities Management<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Oversee the day-to-day management of the facility, workshop, and office environment<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Ensure building infrastructure, utilities, equipment, and services are maintained effectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Manage contractors and external service providers, including maintenance, cleaning, waste management, and other facilities-related services.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Ensure appropriate inspections, servicing, and maintenance schedules are maintained.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Support compliance with building and workplace safety requirements, including fire safety and emergency systems<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Identify and address facilities-related risks and issues promptly.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Training & Awareness<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Develop and deliver appropriate health & safety training<\/strong>, including employee inductions and refresher training.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Ensure employees understand their health and safety responsibilities and are equipped to work safely.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Support managers and supervisors in promoting safe working practices.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Encourage a positive and proactive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Compliance & Auditing<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        • \n

          Carry out regular internal audits, workplace inspections, and compliance checks<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Act as a key point of contact for external inspections and audits, including those conducted by regulatory bodies, insurers, and other relevant organisations.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Maintain and regularly update compliance registers and records, including:<\/span><\/p>\n

            \n
          • \n

            Equipment inspections<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            PPE<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Fire safety<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Emergency systems<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Maintenance and servicing<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Training records<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Monitor compliance requirements and ensure appropriate actions are completed within agreed timescales.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Key Skills & Experience<\/span><\/p>\n

            Essential<\/span><\/p>\n

              \n
            • \n

              Proven experience in a Health & Safety and\/or Facilities Management role<\/strong>, ideally within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and compliance requirements<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Practical experience conducting risk assessments<\/strong> and implementing effective H&S systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and site facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate effectively within a part-time role.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with employees, managers, contractors, and external stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Desirable<\/span><\/p>\n

              • \n

                NEBOSH General Certificate<\/strong> or equivalent health & safety qualification.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                IOSH membership<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Previous experience working within an SME environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Familiarity with workshop, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Experience supporting or managing environmental and sustainability initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
