So you want a career in Recruitment?
If you ask anyone who works within recruitment ‘What is recruitment?’ you will undoubtedly hear a variety of completely different answers ranging from it’s about finding the right person’ and ‘it’s about building relationships’ - however at its core recruitment is about the experience. Not just the candidate’s experience but the recruiters.
There is no doubt recruitment can be a demanding role that is filled with ups and downs, consultant Ryan Quantrill talks through his 5 top tips for Recruitment success:
1. Research
Knowledge is power – Knowing your client and the positions that you are recruiting for can help you understand the calibre of candidates that they are looking for and put you that vital step ahead of the competition.
2. Flexibility
No handstands though - It's not a 9-5 job, but that extra hour you do one evening could pay dividends in staying ahead of the competition.
3. Feedback
They loved me, didn’t they? – Always provide feedback to your candidates. They will think more of you because of it and it will help them prepare for their next interview.
4. Ask Questions
No one expects you to know everything, being inquisitive will show both clients and candidates that you are engaged and committed to helping them.
5. Pay Attention to Clients
Are you listening to me? – Make sure you are engaged, and you follow what your client wants. Making a great impression will secure more business in the future.
