Company Background
Farmyard Frozen are an expanding start-up company based in Norfolk. After owning and running a restaurant for 6 years, they decided to branch off into creating high-end frozen food, created by top chefs which they sell in shops and direct to customers, delivering nationally.
Due to their business growth plans, they had the requirement for an Operations Director to join the company and take ownership of the new arm of the business. The ONE Group was recommended to Farmyard Frozen due to our expertise, experience, and knowledge of the sector and the success we have had in filling previous roles.
The Brief
Farmyard Frozen approached Elliott, one of our Technical & Engineering specialist consultants, to assist them with this challenging role. There were a lot of requirements; they needed someone senior with knowledge of the retail industry but also someone who had experience with this type of business model. Added to this they also had the requirement for someone who had expertise in factory and food safety.
Farmyard Frozen expected that this was going to be a challenging role to recruit for and that the recruitment process would take a while.
The Process
An initial online meeting was held between Farmyard Frozen and Elliot and then Elliot travelled to Norwich for an in-person meeting held at their restaurant. Within two weeks, Elliot provided a shortlist of five candidates. Interviews were conducted with two of these candidates. Farmyard Frozen were happy with both of these highly-quality candidates but one had more of the experience that they were looking for as well as ticking all of the boxes, so they offered them the role.
The Result
The whole experience with The ONE Group excelled beyond all of Farmyard Frozen’s expectations. Elliot was able to understand the requirements for the role completely and present the perfect candidate for the role, saving Farmyard Frozen both time and money.
