I am so pleased to be working with one of Cambridge's fabulous College's in their search for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Conference and Catering team.

Excellent basic salary

37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday

25 days holiday plus BH

The Business Development Manager role sits as part of the College Catering and Conference sales team. Their main focus is to build and maintain robust customer relationships with both existing clients and grow their spending accounts. The BDM will also be responsible for market research and finding new business opportunities in order to meet conference strategy and budgetary targets.

The role responsibilities are likely to include;

To respond to all conference and events enquiries in a timely manner recommending the best solution for the client to confirm and contract the business (60%)

Develop strong relationships with key accounts

Dealing with reactive enquiries

Maintain and grow repeat business

Generate and acquire new business, increasing pipeline and bringing on new prospects (40%)

Conduct research of the local and national market

Reach out and pitch to potential new clients over the phone and through face-to-face show round

Promote the College facilities at key industry events

To work closely with the event planner ensuring exact events detail are available to them so they can successfully "build" event/function as required

To achieve and report on weekly achievements (KPIs)

Please note that the salary does not include commission or bonus structure, however the level of remunerations is in line with the nature of the sales focused role.
