Data Engineer

We are working with an innovative "tech-for-good" Cambridge start-up as they build out their Data team. Here, data plays an important role in driving business insights and performance across the platform, and so we are looking for a Data Engineer to help scale data infrastructure, build scalable data pipelines, and collaborate closely with the wider data team with the designing and maintaining of data architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines
- Build and optimise ETL processes
- Manage data storage solutions, such as S3, Redshift, and RDS, ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency
- Automate data workflows
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with privacy regulations
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and data storage performance to ensure reliability and accuracy
- Document and maintain data architecture and pipelines for long-term scalability
Requirements
- Python, Java, or Scala.
- AWS Cloud Services: AWS S3, AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift, etc
- Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, dbt
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB
- REST APIs, AWS Gateway
- Git, GitHub, GitLab
- 5+ years in data engineering, cloud data solutions, or related roles
