This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Consultant to join a dynamic and growing organisation. As a Senior HR Consultant (Payroll Transformation), you will be at the forefront of driving payroll transformation initiatives within HR, guiding and supporting clients through the implementation of new payroll systems and the optimisation of payroll operations. This role combines hands-on payroll expertise, project leadership, and change management to support the successful deployment and adoption of new HR and payroll technology.

What will you be doing...

  • Project Lead on Payroll System Implementation: Leading the implementation of a new payroll system, ensuring it meets business requirements and industry standards.
  • Training & Support: Providing training to all users within the business on the new payroll system, ensuring effective adoption and utilisation of the platform.
  • Report Creation: Creating and managing specific payroll-related reports necessary for business operations, including compliance and audit requirements.
  • Payroll Operations: Support with processing, inputting, calculating, and scheduling a variety of HR-related operations using the HR and payroll system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payroll processing.
  • HR Technology & Transformation Guidance: Advising clients on HR service design and operating model changes that arise from deploying payroll technology and automation.
  • Strategic Planning: Supporting clients in defining transformation roadmaps and creating actionable implementation plans for payroll system transitions.
  • Change Management: Assisting clients in making the case for change, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and translating these into a strategic action plan.
  • Solution Design: Collaborating with technical teams and the business to design payroll and HR technology solutions that align with strategic goals and deliver the desired outcomes.
  • Stakeholder & Risk Management: Engaging with clients to identify and resolve risks and issues that may arise during the transformation process.
  • Embedding New Ways of Working: Working with the business to define and embed new payroll and HR operational processes, ensuring they are sustainable and scalable.



What do they look for...

  • HR Background with Payroll Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience in payroll, with a strong HR background and a focus on payroll processes and systems.
  • System Implementation Experience: Proven experience leading HR and payroll system implementations, with a deep understanding of payroll modules and related HR operations.
  • HR Qualifications: Ideally CIPD Level 5 or similar HR qualifications, with a solid foundation in HR principles and practices.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Strong leadership skills, exceptional stakeholder management, and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams across the organisation.
  • Technical & Functional Expertise: Experience in designing and deploying HR and payroll technology solutions, with a strong grasp of organisational change and process design.
  • Proactive & Independent: A proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently, leading projects from concept to completion.



In return, they offer a salary of £50-65,000 plus benefits and hybrid working.
