Our client, a leading technology company based on the outskirts of Cambridge are on the lookout for a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer due to a period of growth.

Involved in the whole product development from concept through to production, you must have extensive experience of leading & owning the design of electronics systems. To demonstrate this you should have:

  • A strong background in electronics design from initial concept, specification through to software and systems integration, test, and manufacture.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills along with the ability to mentor less experienced engineers.
  • The ability to work in a small, focused team, sometimes against tight deadlines
  • A conscientious, enthusiastic and reliable attitude, taking pride in their work
  • The ability to be self-driven and motivated use their own initiative and take a technical lead as well as work to a high level of quality with good attention to detail.
  • A willingness to continually learn

You will be involved in:

  • Technical Design and specification of digital and analogue circuitry for radio products
  • Subsystem design and implementation
  • Integration with RF, Audio and MMI subsystems
  • Resolution of design and integration issues
  • Supporting, leading and mentoring

So what do we need from you?

  • Solid electronics design experience.
  • Discrete component level design.
  • Experience designing switching low power (<100W) switch mode power supplies, buck, boost, buck-boost and flyback converters.
  • Experience with microprocessor and microcontroller designs.
  • Experience in designing digital interfaces and buses - USB2, SPI, I2C, GPIO etc
  • Low power circuit design for battery powered products.
  • Design for EMC/ESD protection.
  • Design for Manufacturing and Test.
