I am looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accounts Assistant to join a small finance team in South Cambridge.
This is a fixed term contract for 9-12 months to cover a period of maternity leave.
You will play a key role in supporting the Financial Controller, Management Accountant and other non-finance department heads with costings, pricing, financial analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing costings and pricing for new and existing products.
- Support financial reporting, including weekly and monthly results analysis.
- Maintain and update financial models related to product costs.
- Work closely with Commercial, NPD, and Finance teams to provide accurate cost data.
- Ensure financial systems and records are up to date and accurate.
- Assist with month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and accruals.
- Support the management accountant with the production of weekly accounts
What we are looking For
- Experience in a finance/accounting role, ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (SAP experience is a plus).
- Ability to work collaboratively across different departments.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- CIMA/ACCA (studying or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
This role is working on site, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm.
They have plenty of free on site parking, and they are also easily accessible by bus - with the closest bus stop just a few minutes walk from the office.
