Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM)
Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid with Client Visits)

About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive new business opportunities across the UK market in line with business strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in acquiring new clients, expanding revenue, and contributing to a company's growth strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience in business development, a strong sales background, and a passion for building long-term customer relationships in a Technical field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation: Identify and prospect new business opportunities through networking, market research, and strategic outreach. Managing new opportunities from lead, RFQ to contract award.
  • Client Acquisition: Present the company's products/services to potential clients, negotiate contracts, and close deals to achieve sales targets.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business. To instigate meetings, both onsite and offsite to ensure services and products are fully conveyed.
  • Market Insight: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities. Undertake market analysis and report. Using social media platforms to generate leads and showcase products/ services.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a business development strategy that aligns with the company's overall growth goals.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing, to align efforts and maximize new business opportunities.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline progress, and key performance metrics to senior management. Provide order forecasting on long and short term pipeline performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in business development, technical sales. Preferably in the electronics component industry but not essential.
  • A strong track record of successfully acquiring new clients and consistently meeting sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with senior decision-makers.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify market trends and customer needs.
  • Highly self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and other business development tools.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic growth plans.
  • Good presentation skills, able to present to clients as well as candidates.
  • UK-based, with flexibility for occasional travel for client visits.
