Purpose of the Position:
We are looking for a high-performing Sales Manager to help us meet our revenue growth targets of doubling the business within 2 years by keeping our company competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximising our sales team potential, crafting sales plans, and justifying those plans to upper management. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, sales-driven person focused on promoting our product portfolios, identifying market opportunities, understanding customer requirements, and providing solutions to their applications while being innovative in the design and implementation of strategic sales strategies. You will provide day-to-day support to the Managing Director by managing the Sales Team to maximise its operational effectiveness and meet revenue, margin targets, and company goals and objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities are currently as shown below but may change in line with the overall development and growth of the business.

  • Direct sales-facing activity for all the company's product portfolio and services, focusing on both component and solution-based packages.
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company's customer base and ensures its growing market presence.
  • Set objectives, coach, and monitor the performance of the sales team.
  • Develop a full understanding of all products and services.
  • Create innovative solutions to meet market requirements and sell to our customers.
  • Interact with colleagues to identify and develop customers and create the best solutions.
  • Participate in applicable trade shows, exhibitions, and in-house technology days.
  • Develop sales and marketing strategies to promote sales within the UK and overseas markets.
  • Set up distributors and agreements.
  • Operate a CRM, forecast, and report on projects with successful conclusions and timescales.

Education & Background Required:
An experienced sales manager that can offer direct experience in all of the key areas of responsibility noted above. Preferably educated in an engineering/technology-based HNC/Degree or equivalent, the candidate must have a sound knowledge and experience of all customer-facing functions, budgeting and cost control, and experience in managing a sales team. Demonstrable experience in a similar related position with a proven record of business success.

This role will appeal to a person who is sales-driven and capable of managing a team. They should be able to work independently and as part of a team to develop customer relations and obtain sales orders. Working under pressure to meet objectives/deadlines and has the ambition and ability to grow the business unit.

Requirements:

  • Successful previous experience as a sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise.
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Be of good character, honest, and detailed in their work.
