CNC Programmer / Machining Specialist

Join a growing SME supplying precision-engineered components into the Aerospace, Defence, and Motorsport industries.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Machining Specialist to join our skilled workshop team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic SME environment where your expertise, ideas, and craftsmanship directly contribute to the quality and success of our projects.

You will play a key role in taking customer designs from concept through to manufacture, programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models to create accurate CNC programmes using HyperMill (experience with OneCNC or SolidWorks also beneficial)

  • Set, operate, and optimise up to 5-axis CNC machinery, selecting appropriate tooling and machining strategies

  • Troubleshoot machining challenges, improve processes, and ensure production runs efficiently

  • Carry out quality checks, support customer projects, assist with quotations, and share knowledge by training new team members

You Will Have

  • Previous experience working within a precision manufacturing environment, ideally with Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, or similar industries

  • Time-served apprenticeship with around 5 years’ experience in CNC programming and machining

  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software, CNC programming, and setting/operating multi-axis machinery

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the confidence to work independently as part of a close-knit SME team

If you’d like to work in a hands-on environment where your skills are recognised and your contribution makes a real difference. You will work on varied, technically challenging projects for leading industries while being part of a supportive team focused on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
