About The Role

The One Group

CNC Turner / CNC Machinist

Monday to Friday (Early finish Friday)

If you’re an experienced CNC Turner / CNC Machinist and looking to join a growing SME supplying precision-engineered components into the Aerospace, Defence, and Motorsport industries.

Your expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to the quality and success of our projects.

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machines, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and to the highest quality standards. The role will involve preparing materials and tooling, operating Mazak machinery, carrying out in-process inspections, and making programme adjustments when required. Strong technical ability, quality awareness, and a commitment to meeting production targets are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Set and operate Mazak CNC turning machines, including managing Fanuc controls and making programme edits or adjustments to suit tooling, materials, and machining requirements.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing instructions to produce accurate precision components.

  • Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment, complete route cards, and submit parts for quality checks.

  • Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning, deburring, and support continuous improvement activities within the team.

Requirements

  • Time-served CNC apprenticeship or equivalent experience, ideally with 5+ years’ experience in a precision manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with CNC turning, online/offline programming, and modifying programmes to compensate for tooling, material, or machine conditions.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to read technical drawings and use a range of precision measuring equipment.

  • Reliable team player with good written and verbal communication skills, strong PC literacy, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled engineering team working on high-quality precision components for leading industries. You will be part of a supportive SME environment where craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and technical expertise are valued.
